This is an artical I read about rut season. When it comes to rattling, timing is your first consideration for to bring in bucks. If bucks aren't in right frame of mind, meaning nutty in the rut, your odds for success go down. Ive rattled in a buck as early as late October in the panhandle and a few others as late January in south Texas.
Best times to call for bucks is during the rut two weeks before the peak, the most best times is rut and peak time around the first week of December. You want to set your stand or call for them where theres a lot of doe's around there should be five doe's for every buck, and thats where the big deer will come in.
